This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

"Last Train to...Minot #2 of 2" - Abandoned Great Northern passenger car decays in a ND gravel pit
I've passed by this elegant old (built circa 1906) Great Northern passenger car slowly decays at a gravel pit well off of highway 2 west of Minot at least a hundred times in my life. On this occasion, I decided to take some time to get a few quick photos, since I had finally contacted the owner(s) by phone and received permission quite a while back. When postprocessing, I noticed that in both photos another train is passing by in the distant background (to left)! I don’t think I could’ve planned that any better if I tried!
Image captured 4/24/23 with infrared-modified Pentax K-3 (720nm) Version #1 is "normal color".
About Peter Herman
Peter Herman was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota. He first became interested in photography during high-school, and after acquiring a Pentax SLR, began taking photos for the school yearbook and developing/printing B&W images in school darkroom. He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
